MX Player Pro: Video Player, Movies, Songs for Windows is a media player for Windows devices. While most devices today come with some type of built-in media player, most offer a limited range of features. You may find that you need to sit through multiple ads before you can play a video or that it only works with certain file types. MX Player Pro is a universal media player. Not only does it play videos and songs, but it can detect most of the file formats you use.

It comes loaded with helpful features like a zoom option. You pinch your fingers on the screen to zoom in on a certain area of the screen. This ensures that you never miss out on an important background scene. Swiping across the screen allows you to zoom out and get back to the full screen. If you live with kids who have a habit of watching things that aren't appropriate for them online, you'll like the kid lock. This lock lets you keep them from opening and using the app. The lock also lets kids watch videos on your device but locks them to the video and keeps them from doing other things on your device.

Have you ever tried to watch a video on your computer and found that the system could not recognize the file format? Most systems require that you either find a different version of the video or download an optional feature to play it. With MX Player Pro, you get built-in hardware acceleration. MX Player Pro uses a hardware decoder that quickly recognizes the file type and decodes it to let you play the video. Not only does this work on videos, but it works on music files, too. The developers claim that the app can decode files up to 70 times faster than other apps.

No matter what type of Windows device you have, you might find that it isn't quite as loud as you would like. You may even want to use subtitles to make sure you don't miss out on any of the action. MX Player Pro supports the subtitles found on DVDs and other discs. It allows you to scroll forward and see upcoming lines or scroll back to catch the lines you missed. Your up and down arrows let you change the location of the words on your screen. When you zoom in and out, you can also change the size of the subtitles.

MX Player Pro does a good job of keeping track of your videos and songs, too. Clicking on the “Movies” button shows you all of the folders you saved under this section. You can view all of the videos in a simple line or add folders to organize movies that fit into genres such as horror and comedy films. The “Folders” button takes you to all of your folders and shows you how many files are in each one. The app even shows you the length of each file.

Have you ever tried to watch a movie or video clip before but found that it was so dark you could hardly see anything? MX Player Pro has a brightness feature that you use via a slider on the left side of your screen. Moving the slider up improves the brightness to help you see things you missed on early viewings. When you move the slider down, you darker the screen to keep the bright lights from taking over your screen. MX Player Pro also lets you pause and resume videos when you double tap in the center of the video.

MX Player Pro is the full version of the app. The original version has fewer features and does not come with hardware acceleration. You'll also find that it has enough ads that you may not like using it. While at least one ad will play when you try to load a new video, other ads can play when you try to close it and in the middle of your video. Some of the same ads play when you use the app to listen to music. You may find that the full Pro version is worth the upgrade cost.

As with other media players, MX Player Pro has some flaws. The more advanced features are often difficult to use. Some users found that they gave up on learning how to use them and just stuck to the basic features. If you try to watch a video and need to use hardware acceleration, the app can take a few minutes to find the right codec and give you access to the file. There is not any way for you to save images taken from your videos either. While you can take a shot with another app, MX Player Pro itself does not let you take photos. When you use the app on certain devices, it can take longer for your screen to shut down. It can take up to three minutes when you close the app before it fully closes on your device.

You don't need to stick with the old media player that came on your computer or Windows device just because it's there. Developers now make tons of products that deliver better resolution and more options. MX Player Pro is one of the top options available because it works with so many formats and has a decoder that unlocks new formats for you. It helps you listen to music for hours or watch several movies in a row. Download MX Player Pro if you're on the hunt for a media player with hardware acceleration that also gives you more subtitle options.
